Andalusia still retains an aura of its noble heritage, characteristic of a certain British savoir-faire, an ambience which extends to the thermal springs in Carratraca, a city known for its excellent, gleaming marble. These stunning and ancient springs present further testimony to the region’s regal past and once held a bath which bore the inscription “Reserved for Lady Eugenia de Montijo, forever”, by order of Napoleon III. The Cortijo Bravo is set amidst lush countryside stretching out to the sea, where an air of noble Andalusia extends to Vélez Málaga, the Casa de Pilatos, and El Rocío hermitage which have united nobility and the masses throughout history. The hotel is a striking white oasis set amidst green fields, a country mansion where exquisite good taste pervades throughout the property, evident in the combination of traditional wooden pieces, rugs and terracotta floors, and which even extends to the steel bathroom fittings. Set alone on a hill, the solitary Cortijo Bravo is indeed part of the landscape.
